Mrs Robinow, A Member our Original Executive Committee
This is a portrait of Mrs Robinow that is stored in the ¶¶ÒõÊÓƵ archives. In 1875, Mrs Robinow was a member of our original executive committee, along with her daughter, who was a trained bookkeeper.
Robinow and her daughter oversaw school finances and travelled the UK looking after the financial affairs of students.
At a time when women did not have the same status as men, the executive committee referred to themselves as directors to create an air of authority and industriousness.
